Dianne Erquiaga joined Smile Train in 2015 and since that time has worked tirelessly to increase access to care by expanding the organization’s programs in Spanish-speaking South America. She is directly responsible for Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Venezuela. As the Program Director for South America, she is dedicated to empowering Smile Train’s local treatment partners to provide safe, high quality, comprehensive cleft care in a timely manner.
Serving families in need has been a cornerstone of her career. Prior to joining Smile Train, Dianne worked for more than 25 years aiding vulnerable populations through her advocacy, counseling, and social work efforts for a child protection agency in Los Angeles, CA. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from California State University, Northridge and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the Universidad Femenina del Sagrado Corazón (UNIFE) in Lima, Perú where she currently resides.
